Women’s League of Reading Launches Annual Holiday Homes Contest to Benefit Mission of Deeds

The Women’s League of Reading (WLR) is excited to announce the launch of its Annual Holiday Homes Town-Wide Exterior Decorating Contest and Fundraiser, kicking off November 28, 2025. This festive community tradition invites Reading residents to decorate the exterior of their homes in their most creative and spirited holiday displays—all in support of the local non-profit Mission of Deeds.

Residents interested in participating can register on the WLR website for a nominal $25 entry fee, with all proceeds directly supporting Mission of Deeds and its work providing beds, furniture, and household essentials to families in need. Registration will be open through December 11.  The top 3 voted homes will receive not only bragging rights, but a gift card to a local business of their choice in the following amounts: 1st Place: $100 | 2nd Place: $75 | 3rd Place: $50.

Once registered, participants are encouraged to showcase their brightest lights, inflatables, merry decor, and imaginative themes in an effort to capture the most online votes from community members who visit and view the displays. Voting will take place entirely online from December 13 through December 30, making it easy for residents and visitors alike to join the fun.

To help guide holiday sightseers, all participating home addresses will be added to a downloadable Holiday Homes Map. Printed maps will be handed out by WLR at the Reading Memorial High School Drama Club’s Dickens Holiday Fair on Saturday, December 13 at RMHS. Maps will additionally be available anytime on the WLR website.

We’re thrilled to bring back this cheerful fundraiser for another year,” said representatives from the Women’s League of Reading. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for families to make joyful memories, support the Mission of Deeds, and celebrate the spirit of giving in our community.”

The Women’s League will also be handing out festive treats at the Reading Tree Lighting Celebration on November 30 in anticipation of the beautiful displays forthcoming in the contest.

The Holiday Homes Town-Wide Contest is sponsored in part by The Goddard School of Reading and Sharon VanHorn, a local Realtor®. The Women’s League invites all residents to participate, vote, and enjoy a holiday season that shines a little brighter for everyone.
