Reading Little League's annual Jimmy Fund fundraiser is off to a strong start, with the league already surpassing $11,000 in donations and closing in on last year's fundraising total of nearly $20,000.

Organizers say the community has embraced the annual tradition, which combines youth baseball with fundraising to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. With more than 150 players participating across 11 teams this summer, league leaders believe Reading has the potential to set a new fundraising record.

One of Reading's biggest fundraising success stories this season has been Jack Sisson, who currently ranks among the top four individual fundraisers in the Jimmy Fund Little League program. Community members looking to support his efforts can do so through Jack Sisson's Fundraising Page.

Reading's teams have also made a strong showing on the leaderboard. Organizers reported that the 7-8 Trash Pandas and 11-12 Sea Dogs have both earned spots among the program's top fundraising teams, helping put Reading near the top of participating communities.

Beyond the action on the diamond, fundraising remains at the heart of the Jimmy Fund Little League program. Donations support cancer research, treatment, and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, while giving young athletes an opportunity to learn the importance of service, philanthropy, and community involvement.

League officials are encouraging parents, relatives, friends, neighbors, and local businesses to support the campaign. Even residents without a child participating in the program can contribute by donating to one of Reading's teams.
