Chef Jason Carron Builds on Momentum with Newly Expanded Private Event Offerings in Historic Post Office Building

Two years after opening its doors in Reading’s historic Post Office Building, Post 1917 Steakhouse is proud to announce the expansion of its private event space, further enhancing its ability to host memorable gatherings of all sizes.

Led by distinguished New England chef Jason Carron, Post 1917 has quickly established itself as a local dining destination known for its elevated take on the classic steakhouse experience. Now, building on that success, the restaurant introduces a newly expanded event space featuring two thoughtfully designed rooms, offering greater flexibility for everything from intimate celebrations to larger-scale events.

The expansion reflects Carron’s continued commitment to creating spaces that bring people together through exceptional food, hospitality, and atmosphere.

Our goal has always been to create a place where people can celebrate life’s moments, both big and small,ā€ said Carron. ā€œWith this expansion, we’re able to offer even more opportunities for guests to gather, while maintaining the same level of detail and experience that defines Post 1917.ā€

The newly enhanced space was brought to life in collaboration with J. Richard Builders and Design on a Dime by LH, the same team behind the restaurant’s original design. Their work seamlessly extends the existing aesthetic, blending historic character with modern elegance, while introducing new functionality for private events.

Since opening in 2024, Post 1917 has earned a loyal following for its menu centered around USDA Prime cuts, locally sourced ingredients, and a refined yet welcoming atmosphere. The expansion marks a natural next step in the restaurant’s evolution, as it continues to grow alongside the Reading community.

Located at 136 Haven Street, Post 1917 remains rooted in the charm of its historic setting while offering a contemporary dining and event experience. The expanded event space is now available for bookings, accommodating a wide range of occasions including private dinners, corporate gatherings, celebrations, and more.
