In the early hours of September 4th, Reading Fire Crews responded to a devastating house fire on Libby Avenue. Arriving just before 2 a.m., firefighters encountered heavy flames engulfing a single-family home and quickly called a second alarm to bring in additional resources. Fortunately, all occupants—Tracey Angeloni, her mother Donna, and Tracey’s three children, Seanna, Sierra, and Christian—escaped safely before the fire reached the bedrooms. No injuries were reported, but the home was declared a total loss. Mutual aid partners and Rehab 5 provided critical support during the incident, ensuring the safety and recovery of the crews on site.

In the wake of the tragedy, the Libby Avenue neighborhood has rallied to support the Angeloni family by launching a GoFundMe campaign. With the Red Cross providing temporary housing, the fundraiser aims to help the family replace essential items and begin the difficult journey of rebuilding their lives. Community members are encouraged to contribute and show solidarity with the Angelonis, who have expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of support.
Let’s wrap our arms around this wonderful family and let them know they aren’t in this alone,” Kaitlyn Mercurio, organizer of the GoFundMe.
As of this articles posting, the GoFundMe has raised $28,000 out of a $50,000 goal. To Donate, please click here. Reading Recap will be running ads on Facebook to reach a larger audience.
