Sign up for the 40th Annual Reading Lions Club and Friends of Reading Recreation Journey for Sight 5K Road Race Thursday Evening, July 17!
Join the Reading Lions and Friends of Reading Rec at our annual 5K Road Race and 1 Mile Walk. The Journey For Sight will take place Thursday evening, July 17 at 6:30pm in Reading. The race starts and finishes at Memorial Park on Harrison Street.
The Journey for Sight Race is a fundraiser for the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund (MLERF) and other charities. MLERF finances eye research at world renowned institutions such as the Mass. Eye and Ear. Since 1985, the Reading Lions Club has donated more than $350,000 from the proceeds of this race to eye research. The Reading Lions Club is excited to continue these efforts in conjunction with the Friends of Reading Recreation (FORR).
To celebrate 40 years of running for good, special long-sleeve race t-shirts will be given out to the first 250 entrants. Awards will be presented to the overall winners, as well as the top 3 in each age categories: 15 and under (NEW!), 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80+. We welcome runners of all ages!
