The Town of Reading is hosting three more community recycling drop-off events in May and June. The dates of these events are May 31, June 7 and June 21. These events are an excellent opportunity for residents to dispose of specific household items. The drop off event will be held at the DPW Yard, 75 Newcrossing Rd.
This Saturday May 31, is focused exclusively on the following items:
– Electronics (including small appliances and devices)
– Styrofoam (clean and dry only)
– Paper for secure shredding (on-site shredding trucks will be available, please limit one box per household)
Please note: Do not block traffic, please follow instructions from police officers and staff. If the line is already back to the Stop and Shop entrance, it takes between 45-60 minutes from that point to reach the DPW yard.
Rigid plastics, trash, and recycling barrels will not be accepted at this event on May 31. The two days in June, June 7 & June 21 are dedicated to rigid plastics and old barrels. Information for both of these days will be posted next Monday.
There are dumpsters at the DPW available to residents daily to drop off extra bins and rigid plastic from the hours of 7:30AM-2:30PM M-F.
As a reminder there will be curbside collection opportunities on five Saturdays in July and August to dispose of existing trash & recycling carts, free of charge. The dates for the special collections can be seen below:
– July 12 – Monday trash route
– July 19 – Tuesday trash route
