I am writing in support of Chris Cook for the Select Board. Chris possesses the financial background and knowledge that we need as we navigate the crucial years ahead in managing our town’s finances. After five years on the board, I can confidently say that no candidate, including myself, has had the level of financial experience that Chris brings.
He has reviewed our budget and understands that our current path may lead to a potential override. We need innovative solutions to reduce costs and better manage our operating budget. Chris has highlighted these issues at both forums, and it is important for all of us to pay attention to the challenges ahead.
At the forums, Chris displayed common sense and a calm demeanor. He has chosen to volunteer for Reading at a critical time when we need strong leadership the most.
Now, more than ever, we need someone like Chris Cook to serve on the Selectboard.
