I have had the privilege of knowing Dana Guarino for the past 28 years. Dana has been classmate, coworker, teammate, health care provider, advisor, and friend of mine since we met a Coolidge Middle School in the fall of 1996. I was new to Reading. Dana, showing the empathy he has displayed countless times since, made sure I felt welcome in the new school.

Dana has always been values oriented. He is committed to honesty and integrity, values that he has never put up for negotiation. He is amongst the hardest working people I have ever encountered. In high school and college, we worked multiple jobs together, landscaping and installing pools. Dana excelled on the Football field for RMHS, but it was his values that made him a team Captain. Having endured a few injuries over the years, I have contacted Dana for assistance. After being assessed I have learned Dana has forgone his lunch breaks to take care of me. He is truly a compassionate and caring individual.

I had the privilege of attending Dana’s wedding to Stefanie.  Dana did not just speak about being committed to success in marriage, he wanted to do everything in his power to ensure it happened. I never had any doubt he would be the dedicated father to their three children that he is. I’ve had the opportunity to know Dana’s parents and his two brothers, Michael and Joe. It has always been clear Dana’s upbringing has instilled the values that he has relied upon throughout his life.

The one constant topic of conversation between Dana and I over past 28 years is his pride in the Town of Reading. He is proud of the roots his family has developed in Reading, he consistently expresses gratitude for the memorable Reading educators, coaches, and families that have helped him be the success he is. The upcoming March 5th election the Town of Reading has the opportunity to allow Dana to put that gratitude into action. Please consider voting Dana Guarino for school committee on March 5th. No one will work harder for all stakeholders in the Reading Schools than Dana Guarino.

Regards,

Rick Ferrari
