READING — Police Chief David Clark reports that the Reading Police Department plans to summons two men to court to face larceny charges for taking more than $600 worth of merchandise from a Home Depot in town.

On Friday, Feb. 2, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Reading Police were called to the Home Depot at 60 Walkers Brook Drive for a report of a larceny.

Store employees reported to officers that two men walked out of the store with more than $600 worth of roofing rolls and then fled in a black pickup truck.

Reading Police officers obtained a description of the pickup truck involved, and shared the description with surrounding towns after being unable to find it in the store’s parking lot.

Stoneham Police stopped that pickup truck on Main Street in Stoneham, and contacted Reading Police.

Reading Police were able to identify both suspects and recovered the stolen roofing rolls, as well as several items that are believed to have been stolen from a store in another community.

Both suspects, a 48-year-old Dorchester man and a 50-year-old Malden man, will be summonsed to court at a later date to face one count of larceny under $1,200.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
