As a 43 year+ resident and homeowner in Reading, I have seen many changes that convince me of the need for balanced growth and sensible fiscal management. From years of successful professional experience in public administration, teaching and counseling, as well as serving on Town Meeting, I believe that public funds must be spent with care and accountability; that “wants” and “needs” require close examination before tax money is committed; that respectful discussion of different opinions is most productive.
Having dedicated my life to public service—from serving in the U.S. Coast Guard, to empowering others as a self-defense instructor, to a 35-year career as an officer with the Wakefield Police Department—I have always been committed to the safety and well-being of our community. As a motorcycle patrol officer, lifelong mechanic, and Harley-Davidson enthusiast, I understand the values of Reading’s hardworking residents and am prepared to use my experience to represent their interests with integrity and dedication.
I’m Nicky Lamson, seeking my third term on Town Meeting. I bring a proven record of service to Reading, including petitioning for the Salem Street/Memorial Park crosswalk, volunteering with RMHS Band and Winterguard, and previous Killam PTO volunteer, Girl Scouts leader, and Scout Pack 735 treasurer. With 19 years’ experience as a senior litigation paralegal and a pre-law degree, I understand how policy and budgets affect our community and am committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and practical, common-sense solutions.
I’m running for Town Meeting to give back to our community. As a 2020 RMHS graduate and lifelong Reading resident, I care deeply about our town’s future. I believe in fiscal responsibility, civility in public service, and thoughtful long-term planning. Since filling a vacant seat last fall, I’ve worked to listen carefully, prepare thoroughly, and support decisions that strengthen Reading’s community and financial health. I hope I can count on your support to continue making thoughtful decisions for our community.
I’ve proudly served Reading as a Town Meeting Member for 11 years and would be honored to continue. My husband and I are raising our 3 children here and they attend the Reading Public Schools where I volunteer. As a former lawyer and public speaking coach, I bring analytical skills and a clear voice to every discussion. I care deeply about Reading’s fiscal future and keeping Reading a welcoming place for all.
Serving on Town Meeting for the past three years has strengthened my commitment to thoughtful, collaborative leadership. I believe in fiscal responsibility, sustainable growth, strong public schools, and keeping Reading welcoming and affordable for families and seniors. Progress happens when we listen to one another, find common ground, and work together. I am running for re-election to continue supporting a Reading that is connected, inclusive, and prepared for the future. I hope to earn your vote.
My name is Amanda Haley. I’m first a mother of 2 girls and the proud wife of Select Board member, Chris Haley. As the current Chair of the Coolidge PTO, my family plans to raise our daughters through high school here in Reading. I will make fiscally responsible decisions to support sustainable growth in our community. I’m asking for your vote on Tuesday, April 7th.
My name is Christopher Haley, a Reading resident for 19 years. I am a father of two amazing girls, and I have a loving wife. I am a local small business owner on Haven Street. I live in Reading, I work in Reading, I eat lunch in Reading, and I sleep in Reading. I am for what is in the best interest of our small town and would love to understand your concerns and earn your support.
