As of 1:40PM – Due to the winter storm, school will be closed tomorrow (Monday, 2/23)
Updated 3pm Sunday February 2/22: Reading Town Hall, Reading Public Schools, the Reading Public Library, and the Pleasant Street Center are all closed on Monday February 23.
The National Weather Service has issued a BLIZZARD WARNING, in effect from Sunday evening to Tuesday morning. It’s slated to bring heavy snow and high winds to Reading and the surrounding area.
The Town Manager and Chief of Police have declared a snow emergency; as such, all on-street parking is banned starting at 1am Monday through 6am Tuesday. Any vehicles found impeding snow removal operations shall be subject to ticketing and towing at the owner’s expense.
Here are some additional important updates:
–DPW plowing operations are expected to begin early Monday morning and continue into Monday evening.
–Republic Services will not collect rubbish and recycling on Monday 2/23, with all pick-ups delayed at least one day.
–The Reading Public Library will be closed on Monday 2/23.
–Reading Public Schools, Reading Town Hall, and the Pleasant Street Center will share any decisions on closing via email and their usual channels.
