To the Reading Public Schools community,
The School Committee is pleased to announce that we have reached agreement with Dr. Henry Turner to become the next Superintendent of the Reading Public Schools, effective July 1, 2026.
Dr. Turner will join us from the Newton Public Schools, where he has been the Principal of the highly regarded Newton North High School since 2016. In 2020, he was named the K-12 Dive Award winner as the national Principal of the Year.
Prior to his time in Newton, he was Principal of Bedford High School. Dr. Turner also brings experience as a classroom teacher, including a stint at Lexington High School. A Melrose High School grad, he earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, an M.Ed. From Framingham State University, and a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Boston College.
Dr. Turner will begin working closely with Dr. Milaschewski and other district leaders to support an effective transition over the next several months, prior to his official start date in July.
