“Jimbo’s Sold – Oasis Breakfast and Coffee targeting April 18th Opening“
We recently got a sneak peek inside the former Dunkin’ Donuts location next to Jimbo’s on Main Street, and we’re even more excited about what’s coming. The space is shaping up beautifully as a vibrant Brazilian coffee shop and bakery, complete with colorful, welcoming vibes that promise to bring a real taste of Brazil to Reading. Owners Kleber Borges and Luiz Santos have been hard at work preparing the new spot.

The grand opening of Oasis Breakfast and Coffee is currently slated for April 18, 2026, though the date remains subject to change as final preparations continue.
Also worth noting: you may have seen the Jimbo’s sign go up and down a couple of times recently. Jimbo’s Roast Beef was recently bought out by Oasis Pizza and Roast Beef. CPDC will be discussing and possibly voting on the sign requests later this month. Oasis is keeping the same menu (and thankfully the bbq sauce) while adding additional Brazilian options that will perfectly complement the new bakery shop opening next door.

Back in July 2025, we noted that the Dunkin’ Donuts near Jimbo’s was slated to close after 20+ years, with rumors suggesting a taco restaurant would replace it. Now, at the end of August 2025, it was confirmed that something entirely different, and much sweeter, is taking its place. A new establishment that will bring a taste of Brazil to the community with authentic baked goods and bold Brazilian coffees.

Unforuntely, Oasis will not have Brazilian ice cream available when it first opens. Instead, they will start with Richardson’s ice cream. Brazilian ice cream and popsicles may be added as summer approaches once the shop establishes their footprint. As you can see in the photograph below, they have the specialized metal popsicle containers already to go.

We’ll continue to monitor progress and provide any updates as the April 18th target approaches. If you’ve driven by lately, you’ve likely seen the work inside. The anticipation is building but I’m glad we get to share this update with you all ahead of their launch!
