“Locally Owned Toscana Forno Officially Opens in Reading with Rustic Italian Cuisine and Full Bar at Former Bertucci’s Location“

Toscana Forno, the latest addition from the Perrina family, officially opened its doors today, Monday, March 30, 2026, at 4:00 PM, at 45 Walkers Brook Drive in Reading.

Earlier this year, the Reading Select Board unanimously approved an annual all-alcohol restaurant liquor license for Reading Forno, LLC, clearing the way for this new Italian eatery in the former Bertucci’s space.

Representatives of Reading Forno, LLC, including brothers Angelo and Lucio Perrina, presented their application to the Board. The Perrina family—Reading natives and Reading Memorial High School alumni—already operate three successful Toscana restaurants in Peabody, Beverly, and West Peabody. The new Reading location marks their fourth.

Lucio Perrina, serving as the manager of record for the Reading site, assured the Board he would be on-site at least 40 hours per week, with all alcohol service staff TIPS-certified. The restaurant features a full-service bar, a rustic Italian menu, and a seasonal outdoor patio offering liquor service in compliance with town regulations.

The 6,770-square-foot space (including a 945-square-foot patio) underwent renovations after Bertucci’s closed earlier in the year. The Perrinas have transformed the location into a welcoming spot for authentic Italian fare.

The restaurant is now open to the public. For hours, the menu, reservations, or more details, visit the Toscana Forno website https://www.toscanaforno.com or their social media channels https://www.facebook.com/toscanaforno.
