On February 12, the Reading Memorial High School (RMHS) community came together for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially unveil the newly renovated Fitness Center and Training Room in the Hawkes Field House.
This state-of-the-art upgrade was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of RMHS alumna Claudia Miksen-Fanaras, whose substantial donation of $600,000 fully funded the transformation. The space was outfitted with cutting-edge fitness and athletic equipment provided through a partnership with Matrix Fitness.
The renovation includes modern HVAC improvements, new flooring and turf systems, fresh paint, mirrors, branded decals, and specialized training areas designed to support not only student-athletes but all students with inclusive, high-performance wellness.
Nick Sweatt from Matrix Fitness led a tour during the event, highlighting the equipment, layout, and thoughtful design elements that make this a game-changer for RMHS programs.
A huge thank you to Claudia Miksen-Fanaras for her visionary support—investing in the next generation of Rockets!
