Tomorrow, January 27th, Reading Public Schools will be closed. Classes will resume as usual on Wednesday, January 28th.
Additionally, the overnight parking ban is still in effect across Reading. There is one exception, those with a Reading Resident Parking Pass can park overnight at the Depot on the Lincoln Street side at the smaller southern lot. There is signage indicating the proper lot. If it snows those in that lot must remove their vehicles at 6am.
The following is an important message from the Reading Public Schools.
Hi RPS Community,
Unfortunately, schools will be closed again tomorrow (Tuesday, January 27th).
Our DPW and Facilities teams have been working tirelessly around the clock on snow removal and site preparation, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued efforts and commitment to our schools. Despite this work, our buildings and surrounding areas are not yet in a position to open safely for students and staff tomorrow.
We recognize that additional closures are not ideal. However, the safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority and we must make decisions with that responsibility at the forefront.
Thank you for your understanding. We expect a regular school opening on Wednesday.
