A Beloved Everett Institution Finds a New Home in Reading
A new chapter begins for an iconic Massachusetts eatery as DiBlasi’s prepares to open its latest location at 42 High Street in Reading this spring. Known for its warm hospitality and hearty meals, the new spot promises to be more than just a restaurant—it’s designed as a vibrant community hub where friends and families can gather.
This Reading location is an offshoot of the legendary DiBlasi’s Subs in Everett, a destination that has been serving pizza and subs since 1952. For generations, DiBlasi’s has earned a reputation for quality and tradition, using only the freshest ingredients purchased daily. Their handmade classics—homemade chicken and veal cutlets, meatballs, eggplant, and shaved steak for their signature steak subs—have stood the test of time and remain unmatched.
The new restaurant will occupy the space formerly home to Green Tomato and Nick’s dry cleaning business, transforming it into a larger, more modern welcoming setting for sit-down dining and fun drinks.

At the heart of the new venture is chef Greg Maganzini, whose mission is simple: “Feed the people—and find joy in doing it.” Inspired by his roots in Italy’s Trentino region, Maganzini blends tradition with creativity, offering a menu that celebrates wholesome comfort food with a modern twist. The restaurant’s logo, featuring the Dolomite mountains, pays tribute to those roots and symbolizes strength, hospitality, and togetherness.
DiBlasi’s Reading will offer fast, warm meals for families and a sit-down dining experience complete with fun drinks in a welcoming, modern setting. The team hopes to create a space where old friends reconnect and new ones are made—a true neighborhood gathering spot.
