Reading Public Library (RPL), Reading, MA—Animals helping humans and sustainable farming practices are the focus on the library’s first ever Farm Day, Saturday, May 17, from 12:00PM – 2:00PM.

Come down to the library lawn – you’ll meet some special guests from the Harvard Alpaca Ranch and farmers from Newhall Fields Community Farm who will show different aspects of planting and growing food crops in New England.

12:00PM: Harvard Alpaca Ranch will be out on the library lawn teaching kids all about their farm and the special relationship of therapy animals.

1:00PM: Newhall Fields and six New England farmers will present different stations for kids to learn and try different plantings including lima beans, sunflowers, herbs, and more!

Rooted in Reading is made possible by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners. Additional support is provided by the Friends of the Reading Public Library and the Reading Public Library Foundation.
