On Monday March 24th from 7-9pm, Reading Recap will be hosting it’s First Annual Candidate Conversations Forum! This will be our modern take on the typical “Meet the Candidates” forum of years past. This will be your first look at this years candidates from the contested races of the Select Board and School Committee. Starting off will be the School Committee at 7PM, followed by the Select Board roughly at 8PM. Invitations to both forums were sent to all candidates.
Moderating both events will be longtime resident, Charles (Chuck) Robinson. Chuck has served 18-years on the Reading School Committee and prior to that, he spent 9 years on the Finance Committee. Chuck announced earlier this year that he would not be seeking reelection to the School Committee and that “it’s time to let some other people step up”.
We’ve invited Nancy Tawadros to serve as the interviewer for this event. With her extensive expertise in talent management and talent strategy, Nancy is a seasoned, professional interviewer who will ensure an unbiased and equitable experience for all candidates. In addition to her work in talent management, she also represented the Council on Aging on the committee that selected the design firm for the ReCal project. Nancy is an active volunteer in the community and a Town Meeting member.
We will be live-streaming both forums to our YouTube & Facebook pages (links below) and will be provide a copy to RCTV for rebroadcast on television if they so choose. There will be no public seating at this event.
