READING — Chief David Clark is pleased to share that the Reading Police Department will be wearing pink patches and badges this October in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Officers will be wearing pink patches throughout October in support of breast cancer awareness. Dispatchers and other non-sworn staff will wear special shirts to show their support.
Patches will also be available for $10 to members of the public. All proceeds will go to the Tanner Ta Ta Foundation, which serves Middlesex County and has supported numerous Reading families since it was founded in 2009.
To purchase a commemorative patch, checks may be made out to the Tanner Ta Ta Foundation and sent to the Reading Police Department, 15 Union St., Reading, MA 01867 (attn: Community Service Officer Kristen O’Shaughnessy). Those requesting patches should also include a self-addressed stamped envelope.
These patches allow us to help spread awareness and connect with the community,” said Chief Clark. “We are honored to once again be partnering with the Tanner Ta Ta Foundation. All proceeds will be donated to the organization to help support individuals and families who are going through a breast cancer diagnosis. These special patches help our community give back in a unique and personal way and we are excited to be able to offer and wear these patches again this year.

The Tanner Ta Ta Foundation offers targeted personal support and services to those experiencing a breast cancer diagnosis, including providing meals, gift cards, literature for family members, clothing, personal care items, emotional support and more.
The Foundation also offers a healthy survivor program, which reimburses survivors $200 a year for costs related to gym memberships, fitness trackers, yoga classes, online fitness programming, massage therapy, and more.
