In their home opener, the Reading Rockets varsity football team won the coin toss vs the Danvers Falcons and didn’t stop from there. D’Von Burcy scored his first of three rushing touchdowns on the Rockets opening drive and then his second as time expired at the end of the first quarter. Danvers would manage a rushing touchdown of their own towards the end of the second quarter but missed the extra point due to a fumbled snap. The Rockets would go into halftime with a 14-6 lead.
Reading started off the second half on fire with the kickoff resulting in a 70 yard return by Ryan Pulpi, giving Reading a commanding 21-6 lead. D’Von Burcy would then score his 3rd and final touchdown in the 4th quarter, resulting in a Rockets 28-6 win.
The Reading Rockets (2-0) next game is home vs the Cumberland Clippers (1-1) on Friday, September 27th.
