Reading Police to Wear ‘Reading Rocket’ Patch in Recognition of Graduating High School Seniors

READING – Chief David Clark is pleased to announce that once again Reading Police will wear special patches this June to recognize graduating high school seniors.

The Reading Police Department is partnering with the Reading Food Pantry for this initiative and all proceeds from patch sales will benefit the pantry.

Seniors at Reading Memorial High School will graduate on Friday, May 31.

Members of the Reading Police Department, including both School Resource Officers, will wear the special patch on their uniforms throughout June to honor the graduating seniors. The patch is also available to members of the public who donate $10.

Residents and community members who would like to receive a patch should send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Community Service Officer Kristen O’Shaughnessy at the police station, 15 Union St., Reading, MA 01867, along with a check for $10 or more made out to the Reading Food Pantry.

“On behalf of the Reading Police Department I would like to congratulate the seniors on their graduation from Reading Memorial High School, and wish them the best of luck in this next chapter of their lives,” said Chief Clark. “Whether they are enlisting in the military, attending college, or joining the workforce, students should be proud of their hard work and dedication. I look forward to seeing what they accomplish next and wish them a great summer ahead.”

For more information about the “Rocket” patch program please contact CSO O’Shaughnessy at KOShaughnessy@ci.reading.ma.us or by phone at 781-942-6761.
