Beginning today May 19, 2024, the Department of Public Works Water Division will be conducting water main flushing focusing on the Haverhill and Franklin Street area. Week 4 street schedule posted below.
Flushing will be conducted mostly during the night however there could be some flushing taking place during the day time. Residents may notice slight discoloration in the water and a reduction in pressure. Both of these issues will be temporary. Although the water is safe to drink, residents may wish to check the water prior to washing any clothing.
We regret any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your cooperation in this effort as it will improve water quality and fire flow capabilities. Updates will posted to the towns website (ReadingMA.gov) and on signboards in affected neighborhoods.
