In one of the most exciting posts that I’ve ever made here, The Green Tomato returning rumors swirling around social media are true. Back in September of 2022, The Green Tomato closed its doors after nearly 20 years in business. Now a year and a half later, owners John and Cathy are returning AND expanding.
The Green Tomato is in talks to take over their original space at 42 High Street as well as the former Nick’s Dry Cleaners next door. They are looking at offering additional Vegan and Vegetarian options as well as having seating and possibly a function room.
There is no specific ETA on the opening, other than a September possibility but the line will be wrapped around the block when they do.
