READING โ Police Chief David Clark reports that a Methuen man was arrested and charged with drug offenses due to the alertness of a Reading Police officer.
KADELL McCLOUD, AGE 47, of METHUEN, was charged with:
- Possession of a Class A Substance
- Possession of Class B Substance
- Failure to Identify to Police Officer
- Operating Without a License
- Fugitive from Justice
On Monday, Feb. 26, at about 2:55 p.m., a Reading officer on routine patrol observed suspicious activity in the parking lot of a business on Walkers Brook Drive, which he determined to be a drug transaction.
The officer followed the suspectโs vehicle as it left the parking lot and stopped it a short time later on Walkers Brook Drive.
A preliminary investigation determined that McCLOUD was driving without a license and had not been truthful with officers during questioning. A search of the car discovered drug paraphernalia and drug residue.
Reading Police later learned that Salem, N.H., Police had issued an arrest warrant for McCLOUD involving other criminal cases. McCLOUD was arrested and booked at the Reading Police Station
McCLOUD was arraigned on Tuesday in Woburn District Court.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Whoa, did you hear about the Methuen man getting busted by the Reading Police Department for drug possession? It’s wild how these things happen right in our neighborhood! I wonder what led the officer to suspect something fishy was going on in the parking lot? And what’s the deal with the suspect trying to drive without a license? It’s a good thing the police were on it, but it makes you wonder what else might be going on around here that we don’t know about. ๐๐ค
