The Select Board will be meeting this morning at 10:00am in the Select Board meeting room at Town Hall. The first item on the agenda is and Executive Session: Purpose 1: Discussion of Open Meeting Law Complaint filed by William Brown. As reported earlier this week in the Daily Times Chronicle, William Brown said “The chair of the Select Board Jacqueline McCarthy stated that she violated the Open Meeting [Law] and then resigned as of Feb. 7, 2024. Since it’s a five-member body, two other members must have been involved,” wrote the Martin Road resident. “I want the names of the other two members made public.” Afterwards, the Select Board is scheduled to meet in Open Session to discuss the complaint.
There will then be a discussion and vote on an appointment of a new Town Manager from 4 finalists: Antonio Barletta the Town Administrator of Nahant, Matthew Coogan the Town Administrator of Boxford, Matthew Kraunelis the interim Town Manager of Reading, and Clancy Main the assistant Town Manager of Billerica. The board originally met last week but were deadlocked 2-2.
