The Select Board will be meeting tonight at 7:00pm in the Select Board meeting room at Town Hall. The first two items on the agenda tonight both pertain to Meadow Brook Golf Glub. The first is a public hearing on a Change of Officers/Directors for Meadow Brook Golf Club Liquor License. The second is an update on the Meadow Brook Trail Easement. Back in October of 2021, Town Meeting approved the purchase of Lot 5 on Grove Street for $450,000 with plans for parking lot for the Town Forest. The easement is asking for the walking trail that residents have been already using which would connect the future parking lot to the Town Forest.
The last item on the agenda is a presentation from Edge Sports regarding the Symonds Way Study. According to the information in the packet, “EDGE Sports Global works in conjunction with communities,
schools, landowners, and organizations to create a sustainable year-round athletic ecosystem to benefit users of all demographics. Our expertise in assessment, design / development, programming, and operation allows for the incorporation of an entire community’s recreational and economic desires.”
Edge Sport’s portfolio consists of 14 different sport centers opening or in progress since 2016. Spanning from Essex Sports Center in Middleton, MA which opened in the Fall 2016 to the Eastland Sports Campus in Charlotte, NC which is under development in 2026-2027. The Symonds Way RFI findings info-graphic they provided (included below) highlights Sports & Wellness, Sports & Wellness, Open Space & Recreation and the Towns Survey Findings.
