In their second of only three home games this season, the Reading Rockets would get themselves into an early 6-0 hole but manged to stop the Woburn 2 point conversion in the first quarter. Going into the second quarter, the Rockets made a huge stop on a Tanners 4th and 1 at the 24 yard line. With less than a minute left in the half, the Rockets scored a rushing touchdown and a successful point after to take the lead into half-time 7-6.
Woburn would come out firing in the 3rd quarter with a quick touchdown and successful 2 point conversion to take back the lead 14-7. Reading would counter though with a massive 54 yard rushing touchdown by quarterback Jack Murphy to tie the game at 14-14. Unfortunately for Reading though, their scoring would end there as Woburn would go on to end the 3rd quarter with a touchdown and 2 point conversion for a 22-14 lead. They’d score another touchdown and 2 point conversion in the 4th for a 30-14 Woburn victory.
The Reading Rockets will play their final home game of the season next Friday, October 6th vs the (2-1-1) Arlington Spy Ponders.
