Reading, MA – Zea Zennard was sworn in as the newest member of the Executive Board of the Reading Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC). Eunice Kenyon, Lindsay Conti, and Maria Morgan continue to serve. Laura Joelson resigned in anticipation of moving out of the country.

SEPAC also launched a new comprehensive website which contains many resources to assist parents and caregivers of children with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans, or who are in the process of determining special education eligibility. The new website address is: https://sepac.reading.k12.ma.us All parents of children with any disability, or who suspect a disability, are strongly urged to utilize this valuable resource.

The Reading SEPAC works for the understanding of, respect for, and support of all children with special needs in the community. SEPAC promotes a network of parents of children with special needs, provides a forum to share information, advises the Director of Student Services, School Committee, and Superintendent on special education programs and policies, and parent and teacher training needs, promotes communication and sharing of information to encourage understanding, acceptance and inclusion of students with special needs, and provides informational workshops.

While you’ve gotten the new board member’s name correct in the photo caption, it is wrong in the first sentence of the article — you’ve transposed the first letters of her first and last name. Her first name is Zea (confirmed here: https://www.reading.k12.ma.us/en-US/sepac-da381b5f). Hope to see this article corrected.
