It’s that time of year again where incumbents are looking to retain their seats and potentially new candidates are emerging. Town Clerk, Laura Gemme, has provided an update for all of the open seats in the April 4, 2023 election. We will provide updates every Thursday until the ballot is finalized as nomination papers are not official until returned and certified by the Town Clerk and Board of Registrars.
It all starts off with Alan Foulds, running for a historic 27th year straight for Town Moderator. Currently, both candidates for re-election to the Select Board Carlo Bacci and Karen Herrick have pulled papers. The same goes for the School Committee with Erin Gaffen and Carla Nazzaro. The Board of Library Trustees has two incumbents running again Nina Pennacchio & Monette Verrier with Christian Cappy Popp challenging a seat. Wrapping things up with the Municipal Light Board is Robert Coulter running again for the lone RMLD seat.
Town meeting has 25 nomination papers out, of which 15 are incumbents. Most notably, Precinct 3 has none being pulled as of the January 5th update.
