Dear Editor,

I am writing to enthusiastically support Lori Hayes in her candidacy for School Committee as she seeks to fill my seat. Serving on this committee has been incredibly meaningful to me, and I believe strongly in ensuring that the next person stepping into this role is someone who will continue to put students first and build on the progress the district has  made. Lori is exactly that person.

Our district is in a very strong place. Students are thriving, and that success reflects not only the hard work of our educators and staff, but also a School Committee that collaborates effectively and stays focused on a shared goal: doing what is best for all students. Maintaining that positive trajectory requires thoughtful, capable leadership, and Lori brings both.

As a parent of two children in the district, Lori understands our schools from the inside out. She pairs that perspective with a successful career as a retired project manager in the pharmaceutical industry, where she honed her ability to stay organized, think strategically, and deliver results.  These skills translate directly to the work of the School Committee.

Lori has also already made a meaningful impact through her volunteer efforts. She has dedicated time to advancing our reading program and has been actively involved in securing “Guaranteed Learning Experiences” in math, gaining valuable experience and insight into key academic priorities. Her contributions demonstrate both her commitment and her readiness to serve in a larger capacity.

She is thoughtful, professional, and forward-thinking. Lori understands where our district is today and has a clear sense of where we are going. She is someone who can both support and strengthen the collaborative culture that currently exists on the committee.

I encouraged Lori to run because I saw in her the qualities that matter most for this role. I am also proud to be supporting her campaign directly as her campaign manager. I truly believe she is the right choice at this moment for our School Committee and for our community.

I hope you will join me in supporting Lori Hayes and casting a vote for her on April 7th.  Please visit her website at https://www.hayesforsc.com/

Sincerely,
Carla Nazzaro
