Explore library programs that strengthen connections between parents, caregivers, and young people and kids.

Reading Public Library (RPL), Reading, MA—This spring, discover how your library supports strong bonds between young people and their parents and caregivers. These programs and dedicated spaces are open to all children and their caregivers to explore creativity and independence.

On March 26, parents seeking support and tips for raising teens are welcome to attend Parenting the Emotionally Extreme Teen, led by clinical psychologist Renee Hoekstra. You’ll find assistance clarifying values, understanding teen behavior, and sorting through emotional responses. Attendees will be entered in a raffle for a copy of Lisa Damour’s The Emotional Lives of Teenagers.

In the Zen Den on April 2, tweens take the lead with a program for kids in grades 4-7 to bring their favorite adult for a relaxing night of creativity – designing an air plant holder. You & Me Paint Night on April 15 is a special evening for tweens and their adult to create portraits of each other.

Citizen Kids (gr 3-5) returns, and registration opens on March 27. Young leaders are invited to join a six-week service project that will have a positive impact on their community. Act Local, Think Local, Impact Worldwide!
