It’s election season once again in Reading! Incumbents are running for re-election, and new candidates may still emerge. Town Clerk Laura Gemme has issued the latest update on all open seats for the April 7, 2026 local election. We’ll continue to share updates as the ballot takes shape. Nomination papers are not official until they are returned and certified by the Town Clerk and Board of Registrars. Papers are available for pickup until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.
Select Board
- Incumbent Carlo Bacci pulled nomination papers on November 10 and returned on January 29.
- Salvatore Bramante (current Board of Health member) pulled papers on November 12 and returned December 15.
- Anthony D’Arezzo (a candidate in last year’s election) pulled papers on November 18.
- Incumbent Karen Gately-Herrick pulled nomination papers on January 7 and returned February 5.
School Committee
- Greoffrey Coram (current Finance Committee member) pulled papers on January 12 and returned January 21.
- Incumbent Erin Gaffen pulled nomination papers on January 12 and returned January 29.
- Newcomer Lori Lynn Hayes of Forest Street pulled papers on January 20.
- Incumbent Carla Nazzaro announced on January 29 that she will not seek a 3rd term.
RMLD Board of Commissioners
- Current commissioner Robert Coulter pulled papers on November 18.
Board of Library Trustees
- Incumbent Christian Popp pulled nomination papers on December 15 and returned January 27.
- Incumbent Monette Verrier pulled nomination papers on December 30 and returned February 3.
Town Moderator
- Incumbent Alan Foulds pulled papers on November 10 and returned December 23.
Town meeting had 10 individuals pull papers since the last update on January 29.
