Jim Abbott, Vice President & Financial Advisor at Claro Advisors, Joins the Christopher’s Haven Board

Christopher’s Haven, a Boston-based 501(c)(3) organization with a mission to operate a supportive community consisting of fully-furnished temporary apartments and a community recreation area for families of children being treated for cancer at nearby hospitals, welcomes new member, Jim Abbott, to their Board of Directors. Jim will join Diana Knightly, Emily Taylor Whittemore, Alex Whittemore, Dr. Shannon MacDonald, Stephen Rothwell, Kati Fernandez, and David Lane.

Jim Abbott is a financial advisor in Boston. He joined Claro Advisors, a $1B Registered Investment Advisor firm, in 2017 and previously worked for Wells Fargo Advisors and TD Bank. He volunteers his time and resources at the Brookline Teen Center, Team Noah Foundation, Project Pinball, and Skate for the 22 Foundation. He also volunteers time with a local and national trade association Associated Builders and Contractors 501(c)(6) serving on their local and national Board of Directors.

He holds a Business Degree from the University of New Hampshire where he also was a Division I athlete. He played professional hockey after UNH and was drafted into the National Hockey League by the Pittsburgh Penguins. Jim lives in Reading, MA with his wife Suzanne, and two boys.

“Joining Christopher’s Haven as a board member is a true honor,” says Jim Abbott. “Seeing firsthand how this incredible nonprofit supports children and families facing cancer really drives home how important this work is. I’m committed to dedicating my time and energy to uplift those in need and make a lasting difference in the lives we touch.”

With Jim’s extensive experience coming to the Christopher’s Haven Board of Directors, the organization is hopeful and poised to provide a home and resources to even more children and their families while they battle cancer.
