Town Clerk Laura Gemme has provided the final election update for the May 14, 2024 special local election for the single Select Board vacancy previously held by Jackie McCarthy. Melissa Lee Murphy of Van Norden Road, pulled papers on March 12th and returned them the next day for certification. Mark Delaney of Beacon Street, pulled his nomination papers on March 13th but withdrew them on March 18th. Tara Jean Gregory of Pleasant Street pulled papers on March 21st and returned them on March 25.
Nomination papers were available until 5:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
It should be noted that this term only runs until the local April 2025 election, it is not a 3 year seat but the balance of McCarthy’s term.
