via Reading Public Schools – Families are invited to drop off their registration packets, Tuesday, January 31st at our Kindergarten Registration Night. This event will be held at Reading Memorial High School. Please enter through the Performing Arts Center doors. (You will find those doors on the opposite side of the school from the Field House.) At the event, our school secretaries will be on hand to gather and review your registration packet and accompanying documents. Our building principals will be there too. We will also have a Portuguese interpreter available for any families who would benefit from translation. Finally, Chris Nelson, Director of Community Education will be available for questions about the extended day program. Below is the schedule for the evening:
- Families with last names starting with A-L: 6:00-6:30 pm
- Families with last names starting with M-Z: 6:30-7:00 pm
If you are not able to attend the registration night, you are welcome to submit the registration forms and accompany documents in the following ways:

Full Day Kindergarten Tuition
Based on the FY24 District Budget that was recently approved by the school committee, we were able to reduce the full day kindergarten tuition for the 2023-24 school year. The tuition is anticipated to be $2,650. The tuition fee will be paid across 10 months in equal installments. Each payment will be $265 and due on the following dates:
Aug 15, Sept 15, Oct 15, Nov 15, Dec 15, Jan 15, Feb 15, Mar 15, Apr 15, and May 16
Students whose families complete the necessary forms and qualify for free or reduced‐price lunch will have the tuition waived or reduced. The forms for free or reduced lunch for the 2023‐24 school year will be available in early summer 2023.
Registration Fee Removed
I’m pleased to let you know we are removing the $35 registration fee for full day kindergarten. If you submitted the $35 payment already, we will be in touch with you to see your preference for returning/voiding your check.
Extended Day
Extended Day Registration for kindergarten students will open on February 6th. Please note that registration is “first come first serve”, so don’t delay in signing up. You will receive an email with the link to the registration form on Friday, Feb. 3rd from Chris Nelson, Director of Community Education.
