ย Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, January 19, 2026, at the RMHS Performing Arts Center.ย

You are warmly invited to gather at the RMHS Performing Arts Center for Reading’s annual program honoring the life and actions of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Enjoy a complimentary breakfast provided by the Reading Public Schools, view student artwork, and visit tables hosted by local community groups.ย

The joyful program will include musical performances, a special video presentation, and a keynote address from Dr. Robert Bellinger, PhD. Dr. Bellinger teaches African American and American history, African Diasporan studies, and the history and culture of Senegal at Suffolk University. His research interests include late 19th-century African American history and West African drum traditions. He is deeply involved in training student teachers, working on the inclusion of African and African diasporan history into school curricula, and developing study abroad programs that provide students with international, cross-cultural academic experiences.

This annual event, sponsored by the Office of Equity and Social Justice, the Town of Reading, the Reading Public Schools, and the Reading Public Library, is free and open to everyone. To request accommodations or to volunteer, please contact: apless@readingma.gov

Location: RMHS Performing Arts Center, 82 Oakland Rd, Reading, MA 01867

Time: 9:30 – 11:30 am.

โ€œOur goal is to create a beloved community and this will require a qualitative change in our souls as well as a quantitative change in our lives.โ€โ€”Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
