The Select Board will be meeting tonight at 7pm in the Select Board meeting room at Town Hall. The board only has one item on this special meeting agenda; Discussion and Potential Vote Regarding Request for Quote Process for Town Manager Recruitment/Search Consultant. With Town Manager, Fidel Maltez, being voted as Chelsea’s next City Manager, the Town of Reading Select Board is seeking quotes from qualified executive search consultants to work with the Select Board and the Town in the recruitment and selection of an exceptional candidate for the position of Town Manager for the Town of Reading.
The Select Board seeks to award the executive search consultant contract by October 25, 2023 and prefers to execute a contract with a new Town Manager by February 1, 2024. As of this article, there is no indication on when Fidel Maltez may leave or if he has entered into a contract with Chelsea. Written into his current Reading contract is a 6 months notice clause for either party.
