Beginning this morning, the Town’s contractor, Oliveira Construction, will be mobilizing near Emerson Street in preparation for the upcoming water main improvement project. During construction, delays should be anticipated as Emerson Street will be temporarily closed during working hours from 7AM to 3PM. Please use caution when driving and walking in this area and seek an alternate route to school.

To complete the work, the contractor will first place a temporary water line along Franklin Street and Dividence Road before running temporary water lines to each home along Emerson Street. The work along Franklin Street scheduled for next week will occur after school drop off times.  Active construction along Emerson Street is scheduled to begin 9/11 to allow for a smoother transition back to school.

The contractor may need access to resident’s homes to temporarily remove water meters and make the new connection. At that time, they will be providing homeowners with a 24/7 Emergency line, in addition to our Engineering and DPW points of contact. It is anticipated the work will last approximately one month.

  • Temporary bypass week of 9/5
  • Contractor to mobilize fully week of 9/11 – Road Closed to thru traffic
