Tomorrow night, the Conservation Committee is meeting virtually at 7:00PM. On the agenda are 7 public hearings regarding various properties all around Reading. In particular, Grove Street Lot #5 (across from 374 Grove Street) is slated for the 8:00PM hour. Lot 5, also referred to as Meadow Brook Lot 5, was purchased by the town for $450,000 back in October 2021.

In order for the town to utilize it for their ultimate purpose, an easement from the Meadow Brook Golf Club would be required to connect Lot 5 to the Town Forest. The specifics the town are looking are:

The applicant proposes to construct a gravel parking lot with 17 parking spaces, including 2 handicapaccessible spaces and a guardrail along Grove Street. Two portable toilets areas are
proposed and 25 trees are proposed to be cut down, but only 1 of the trees is located in the
100-foot Buffer Zone.

Below is a video that we shot earlier today showing the overall state of the lot 5 area and Town Forest as well as the Zoom ONLY info for tomorrow nights meeting.
