Tonight at 6PM, the Town of Reading engineers and Weston & Sampson Engineers, Inc will be giving an update to the Auburn Street water tower replacement. This will be a Zoom only meeting, accessible via the following link:

Meeting ID: 811 7927 7931
Passcode: 091040

The items that have already been completed as part of the project are:

  • Cell Carrier Transition
  • Existing Tank Demolition
  • Soil Excavation and Removal
  • Rock Removal

Currently, the work that’s being done on the project includes foundation preparation and installation. The anticipated timeframe to complete those portions is roughly February 2023. Moving on beyond that will be the pedestal construction, with about 4 months of construction time to build, taking you into June. The transition time from the temporary cell tower to the new permanent home on the new water tank is the Fall of 2023 if all goes according to schedule.

Below is an aerial video we shot of the current status of the foundation, temporary tower and overall project area. We hope that you find it informative and we’ll be sure to provide future video updates of the project as it progresses.
