New scoreboard, same result. The Reading Rockets improved to 8-0 on the season with their victory against the Lexington Minutemen by a score of 47-6. Reading jumped out to an early first half lead, 13-0 via a 65 yard TD pass from Jack Murphy to Alex DiNapoli with 5:45 left in the 2nd quarter. Lexington came right back with a quick rushing touchdown but the extra point was blocked. With 58 seconds left in the 2nd quarter, Reading stopped Lexington on a 4th and goal from the 3 yard line and took a commanding 21-6 lead into halftime.

Reading started off the second half with 2 quick touchdowns in under 5min for a 34-6 lead. They then followed that up with another pair of touchdowns, making that 34 unanswered points and the victory on a cold 37°F October night.

The Rockets also improved to 5-0 in the Middlesex – Liberty Division with their victory and remain the only team in their division undefeated. Their next game is home on Thanksgiving vs the Stoneham Spartans (7-1), at 10:15AM on Thursday, November 24th.
