“Revised Plan Earns Approval on Second Review“

The Select Board has unanimously approved an early opening license for Dunkin’ Donuts at 273 Salem Street, allowing the business to open its lobby at 5:00 a.m. under a set of conditions aimed at minimizing impacts on nearby residents.

The approval came following a public hearing at their last meeting, where representatives for the business, Regional Manager Vipin Khera and District Manager Lynne Ostrowsky, addressed prior concerns related to early morning operations.

According to applicants, the business had taken steps to review and correct issues that had been raised during an earlier May meeting, particularly around delivery times and noise. Management reported that some deliveries had occurred outside permitted hours and that corrective measures had since been put in place, including communication with vendors to ensure compliance with town regulations.

Board members also discussed the importance of maintaining appropriate safeguards to protect the surrounding residential neighborhood. Conditions tied to the approval include adherence to delivery restrictions, minimizing early morning noise, and ensuring that trash collection and other operational activities do not create disturbances.

The license permits lobby service to begin at 5:00 a.m., but does not allow earlier activity that would conflict with town bylaws governing noise and deliveries.

During the discussion, board members emphasized the importance of communication between the business, the town, and residents if future issues arise. The approval reflects a balance between accommodating business operations and addressing neighborhood concerns.

The Select Board voted 5–0 in favor of granting the license.
