Following a couple hours of discussion and minutes before midnight, Article 3 (Reading Center for Active Living) was approved at tonight’s Special Town Meeting 101-43 and will proceed to a voter referendum on May 13th. A detailed recap of the debate will be shared tomorrow.
Wonderful news! I just can’t wait to vote against another BS project that will raise my taxes. The town should done just a few things very well. Police, fire, schools, road maintenance, trash collection. The rest of these projects should be done by private charities or people that these things benefit, not the taxpayers.
I have an idea. There is plenty of commercial space for rent at the 128 plaza where Market Basket is located. Why don’t these good people with high opinions of themselves rent some space there and build it out for their senior center. It will be a lot cheaper than building something for $27,000,000.00.
