The Residence at Pearl Street , an LCB senior living community in Reading, received a special Valentine’s Day visit from Joshua Eaton Elementary School students today. Students were hand-delivering homemade Valentine’s cards to residents, spreading love and cheer throughout the community.
“Joshua Eaton remains dedicated to building a student community that promotes learning, curiosity, inclusivity and kindness. Throughout the year, students are encouraged to participate in several initiatives that collect in-demand items for charities directly benefiting the Reading community. This visit to The Residence at Pearl Street goes one step further allowing students to meet members of their community and give-back on a more personal level. The PTO thought Valentine’s Day would provide the perfect backdrop as we bring these two groups in our community together,” says Erin Hollis, Community Service Co-Chair, Joshua Eaton Elementary School PTO.
“We had a great visit with the families from Joshua Eaton Elementary School. The residents had smiles from ear to ear! They loved the visit very much. The children were so friendly and kind to the residents. The children, parents and residents were all interacting. Many residents asked if their visits could be a regular thing,” says Beverly Curry, Resident Engagement Director at The Residence at Pearl Street.
