During last nights Select Board meeting, the board executed an employment agreement with Matt Kraunelis to continue as Reading’s Town Manager. The board voted unanimously 5-0 to extend Matt Kraunelis’ contract until June 30, 2026. After the vote, Chair Carlo Bacci read a brief statement: “We shared our feedback in Open Session with Matt and we want to look forward and Matt has responded positively over the past several weeks to our feedback. We wanted to extend his contract until June 30th 2026 and we all look forward to being on the same page. We want Matt to stay as long he as he’s willing to stay and show us that he can lead the town and do the job that is before him”.
Matt Kraunelis then responded to the board:
I want to thank everybody for extending. I look forward to working as I have for the last 10 years and continuing that work in Reading and giving it all I have.
Matt Kraunelis
The terms of his agreement are currently not available on the towns website and we will update this article when it’s been uploaded. The full meeting can be seen below.
