The Town of Reading and its contractor, GTA Co, Inc., will be replacing the Water Main on Walkers Brook Drive. This is part of the Town wide water distribution system improvement program. Construction is scheduled to begin today October 2, 2023 and continue as weather permits.

The road will remain open during construction. Detours are not expected but those traveling this road should expect a reduction or shifting of lanes. Access to properties and businesses will be maintained at all times. The excavation will be filled in and the street made passable at the end of each day.

All properties will have full access to water during construction. Notification will be provided prior to any planned water service shutdowns with water service being restored as soon as possible.

If you need to contact the Water Division for any reason, including emergencies, please call the Water Division at 781-942-9092, Monday – Friday, between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. You can also call the Engineering Division with any other related questions at 781-942-9082, Monday – Thursday, between the hours of 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM. All other times, please call the Reading Police at 781-944-1212, and they will notify the Water Division emergency callman.
