If you stop by town hall next week, you’ll notice some new upgrades that went in place this past week. Kevin Furilla, Director of Technology, came up with the idea to replace the antiquated wall tile directories with new digital signage. Each entrance/exit has the new screens added to it that show where each department is located while also advertising different alerts/events in Reading.
Assisting him on the project were both Caitlin Nocella and Jacquelyn LaVerde in the Town Manager’s office. They both will be in charge of maintaining which items are added and removed as time goes by.
When asked if they were touch screen devices? Town Manager Fidel Maltez replied, perhaps in the future. For now they are just normal flat screen televisions with computers behind them.
