SUMMARY:🎸 6th Annual Reading PorchFest
DESCRIPTION:The Reading PorchFest Committee announces that this year’s edition of the popular music festival is set for Saturday\, June 22nd. As always\, the event runs from noon to 6 pm. \nIt features music of all genres on porches\, driveways\, and yards throughout the town\, and it’s completely free. Organizers\, musicians\, and hosts are all volunteers. \nTo participate as a musician\, a host\, or maybe both\, check out ReadingPorchfest.com for all the information needed to get involved\, as well as online registration forms. \nThose hoping to be spectators that day will find a comprehensive schedule and a map at the site as the date of the festival nears. Also appearing as the schedule shapes up will be a gallery of artists and music samples. To take in all the talent\, one needs just to walk or ride from venue to venue to hear many types of music. \nCosts for the event are partially paid for by the Reading Cultural Council. \nReading PorchFest began as part of the town’s 375th anniversary celebration in 2019\, and has continued as an annual event\, set each year on the fourth Saturday of June. It has grown with each edition\, and early signs point to this being the biggest year yet. \nAgain\, that’s Saturday\, June 22nd. Put it on your calendar right now\, before you forget.

New Singers may attend these 2 rehearsals to “try RCS out”\, before registering. Please arrive early for check-in. \nFounded in 1919\, Reading Community Singers is a non-audition chorus and New Members are always welcome ~ of every voice and experience level\, ages 16 to whatever! Commitment to attending rehearsals is also a must. \nMusic for the Spring Concert will include the title song — Rutter’s “For the Beauty of the Earth”\, as well as the Medley – “Forever Motown”\, and Dylan’s “Blowin’ in the Wind”\, among many others. Elijah Botkin is returning for his third season as Spring Artistic Director for RCS and Joe Beninati will again be the Rehearsal and Concert Accompanist. Beninati has worked with RCS for over 20 seasons. \nRehearsals continue every Tuesday\, with the Concert on Saturday\, May 10 at 7:30 pm Reading Memorial High School. \nOnline Registration is now Open\, or you can Register in person at these 2 rehearsals. SUMMARY:🎶 Reading Community Singers “Open Rehearsals”
DESCRIPTION:Reading Community Singers ~ New and Returning Singers Welcome! \nReading Community Singers has 2 more “Open Rehearsals” for their Spring Concert ~ “For the Beauty of the Earth”\, on Tuesday\, February 4th and 11th\, from 7:30 to 9:30 at Old South United Methodist Church\, 6 Salem St.\, Reading. And as with most choruses – RCS is always looking for “just a few more good men”! They only ask that Singers can carry a tune and match pitch – both of which are much easier to do working together as a chorus. For more information about Rehearsals\, this Concert\, or RCS in general\, please go to www.ReadingCommunitySingers.org\, or send an email to info@ReadingCommunitySingers.org. \n~~~~~~ \nThis Concert is funded in part by a Grant from the Reading Cultural Council\, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council\, a state agency.
