SUMMARY:🌼 AprilFest 2026
DESCRIPTION:This was supposed to be our annual WinterFest celebration in March. Ironically\, the amount of snow on the Reading Town Common caused the Chamber to postpone until we had enough space to hold the event. \nWinterfest is the Chamber’s annual outdoor celebration of downtown Reading. Established in 2022\, it was created to bring the community together in a family-friendly environment as the coldest days of winter start to fade. \nThis is a free event\, with activities paid for by local sponsors. There will be fire tables and s’mores\, music\, local food\, beer and wine vendors\, lit ice sculptures\, and more. Local businesses and craft artists will have booths to visit. \nStroll the downtown\, pop into stores and restaurants\, and meet your friends after a looong winter. We hope to see you there.

SUMMARY:🎵 Old South’s Community Coffee House
DESCRIPTION:Old South’s Community Coffee House\, November 15th\, 7:30 pm \nOld South United Methodist Church is pleased to host a Community Coffee House Concert\, on Saturday\, November 15th at 7:30 pm. We are featuring local area musicians\, a scrumptious dessert bar and beverages. All for a $10 entrance fee! This is not a fund-raiser\, but an event to bring people together to enjoy great music. \nWe will feature three very different performances: “Cait and Pat\,” better known as Caitlin and Patrick Beckmen\, is a sibling musical duo. You may recognize them from their regular performances at Bunratty’s here in Reading. Samantha DeLuca\, another Reading native\, spent several years in Los Angeles writing and recording her own original music. (you can check out her work on Spotify) All three of these musicians were very active on stage with the Drama Club during their years at Reading Memorial High School. Our final musician is Richard Trismen\, a longtime Old South member who writes his own originals as well\, and has been performing in bands since he was a teen. \nOld South could not be more delighted to host this fun event. Please mark your calendars for November 15th at 7:30 pm! You can purchase your ticket in advance by going to https://www.oldsouthumc.org/tickets\, or simply show up on November 15th and pay at the door. \nWe can hardly wait to see you!  Tickets are $10. \nA few words about Old South… Our church has stood at the center of Reading for more than 200 years. In addition to hosting a warm\, supportive community faith\, it is also home to the Reading Food Pantry\, Christian Cooperative Preschool\, and Reading Scout Troops. Old South has assisted refugee resettlement groups and supported UMC mission work as well.

SUMMARY:🎸 7th Annual Reading PorchFest
DESCRIPTION:The Reading PorchFest Committee announces that this year’s edition of the popular music festival is set for Saturday\, June 28th. As always\, the event runs from noon to 6 pm. \nIt features music of all genres on porches\, driveways\, and yards throughout the town\, and it’s completely free. Organizers\, musicians\, and hosts are all volunteers. \nTo participate as a musician\, a host\, or maybe both\, check out ReadingPorchfest.com for all the information needed to get involved. Official registration will open Saturday\, March 1st. \nThose hoping to be spectators that day will find a comprehensive schedule and a map at the site as the date of the festival nears. Also appearing as the schedule shapes up will be a gallery of artists and music samples. To take in all the talent\, one needs just to walk or ride from venue to venue to hear many types of music. \nCosts for the event are partially paid for by the Reading Cultural Council. \nReading PorchFest began as part of the town’s 375th anniversary celebration in 2019\, and has continued as an annual event\, set each year on the fourth Saturday of June. It has grown with each edition\, and early signs point to this being the biggest year yet. \nAgain\, that’s Saturday\, June 28th. Put it on your calendar right now\, before you forget.
